Kodak files for bankruptcy

Iconic U.S. photo-equipment maker Eastman Kodak Co. said early Thursday that the company and its U.S. subsidiaries filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company will probably become a shell corporation to support its valuable patent portfolio after selling off its tangible assets. And then it will slowly fade away.
